Winter Tracking
Winter Tracking is the perfect opportunity to learn more abut the wildlife all around us, and drink some delicious hot pine needle tea, too! You will learn how to identify various animal tracks in the snow, look for other signs of animals including scat and rubbings, and how to record your observations. This course is a snowshoe-based walk over mild terrain and is suitable for children of all ages (provided they are properly clothed and can walk or be pulled in a sled). Dress in layers and bring extra mittens or gloves.

Forest Bathing
Forest Bathing will help you connect more deeply with yourself, the natural world around you, and teach you how to move with intention while experiencing the many sights, sounds, and smells of the world. This course is designed to provide a guided meditation through which you will be asked to contemplate various parts of nature, community, and human connection. A wandering mind is a good thing, it means you are a curious soul! In this course we will practice channeling that curiosity into mindful moments, creating a safe space for you to explore whatever might arise. All are welcome and encouraged to come with an open mind and heart.

Shelter in place, this is not a drill! In this beginner's shelter building course, you will learn to identify safe areas for emergency shelter, what a good emergency shelter provides (and what it does not), and how to use the natural world around you to create a space that may help you survive, should you need to spend the night in nature unexpectedly.

The New Naturalist course is designed to expand the lens through which you view nature. You will learn to use all of your senses to explore the natural world, how to view nature respectfully and with curiosity, and how to record yoru observations in a meaningful and organized way. Fire for Survival
In this introductory fire making course you will learn all of the basics of fire, including modern and primitive methods off fire making, how and where to gather the best tinder and fuel, and how to improvise getting a fire started when in a potential survival situation. You will build your own fire starting kit and practice with this throughout the course. Children under 12 may attend this course if accompanied by an adult.
